OUR PROCESS: THE SERVICES YOU EXPECT, AND SO MUCH MORE

In addition to helping Louisville retirees and those nearing retirement with essential concerns -- such as protecting their hard-earned life savings, preserving their standard of living, and planning an active, values-based and purpose-driven retirement -- we also help them to uncover, on average, over $3,216 in annual private and pubic benefits that are owed to them, but which they are not currently receiving.

DISCOVERY: WHAT ARE YOUR RETIREMENT GOALS?

The Discovery meeting is where we'll create an inventory of all the great things you've done to this point. We will address your concerns, and establish goals for moving forward, including: greater retirement income, lower taxes, fewer ups-and-downs in your accounts, or even just reviewing your current plan to make sure everything is in order. These are just a few of the common goals often voiced by our valued clients.

In addition to discussing your goals and values, we will also gather specific financial and legal documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and financial account statements. By gathering both financial and non-financial documents we can develop a truly long-term, comprehensive perspective that allows us to see both our big picture values and goals, while also alerting us to potential distractions and hazards along the way that can threaten to throw us off course.

Analysing the Data

THE COMPREHENSIVE CHECKLIST: WHERE ARE YOU TODAY?

If the Discovery meeting is about us understanding more about you, then the comprehensive checklist meeting is about you understanding your plan inside and out -- are your investments the right fit for your goals and risk?; how much are you paying in unneeded fees?; finally, if something happens to you, will your accounts go to the right people, and will the right people have the proper authority to make legal, financial, and medical decisions for you?

Even the best charted paths can fall off course over time. And even a slight deviation can, if ignored, result in you being miles away from where you intended to be. So when would you like to know whether you're still on course -- sooner or later?

IMPLEMENTATION: HOW DO WE GET THERE?

By this point, as clients and advisors, we've each done our part in the process, and now it's time to put the plan into action. Everyone's situation is different, so this stage can go any number of ways.

On one hand, we may find that your current plan is exceptional and all we need to do is tweak a few of the often-overlooked "little things" identified during the comprehensive checklist meeting. On the other hand, some of our clients identify several areas in their current financial plan that they would like to either begin addressing, or that they would like to address differently than they've done in the past -- for example, updating their wills and beneficiaries to reflect their wishes, taking less risk in their portfolios, or changing a few things here and there for greater tax efficiency.

Typically, we will lay out a variety of options for our clients to review with us, and then we collaborate to find the solution(s) that we believe will offer the best fit for their current and long-term goals. Over time, we will then review our strategies and update or adjust as circumstances, preferences, and markets may dictate.

We hope you have found your visit to our site to be helpful and thank you for visiting.
